Where to start

Where are your customers looking, and are you there?

Four questions come up in almost every first conversation we have with a Leeds business about its digital marketing. Each one below opens a proper answer, written before we say a word about ourselves, and then shows what we would do about it.

Which channel does which job?

Digital marketing is a set of channels, and each one is good at one of three jobs. Being found gets the most attention on this site, because it is where most Leeds businesses are losing out, but the other two are what turn a search into a customer.

Find you

Find you: the visibility channels

Google search, Google Maps, the AI assistants, YouTube, social feeds and paid ads are the places a Leeds customer actually looks. We work out which of them your customers use for your kind of purchase, then build your presence there first.

Trust you

Trust you: the evidence channels

Once somebody has found you they go looking for reasons to believe you, and they look on the same channels: your reviews, your videos, your project photographs, your posts. We shoot, film and write that evidence with you so every channel carries it.

Choose you: the conversion channels

The website, the landing page and the enquiry form are where visibility turns into work, and analytics is how you know which channel sent the enquiry. Optimising those is what stops a good campaign leaking.

Digital marketing for businesses working in and around Leeds

Three clients, three different mixes of channel, and a job each of them has done in the city.

Drone photograph by Halizona of Bond Brickwork at work on the Swarcliffe development in east Leeds Commercial brickwork · Swarcliffe, LS14 · Search and drone since 2018

Bond Brickwork

Business
A Brighouse commercial brickwork contractor whose gangs lay brick for national housebuilders on large residential developments across Yorkshire. The Swarcliffe scheme in east Leeds is one of them, and we photographed it from the drone.
Problem
Housebuilders and main contractors award brickwork packages after a search like anyone else, and a subcontractor that does not appear for those searches is simply absent from the shortlist.
Work
Search has been the lead channel since 2018. We built and manage the website, the search work around it and the drone photography that feeds both, with the marketing channels and business systems looked after as one long-term arrangement.

The top of Google for the commercial brickwork searches Bond cares about, and a name AI search gives back when it is asked.

Standeven Flooring

Business
A commercial flooring contractor in Hipperholme, going since 2003, with installation teams on jobs all over the country. The M&S Food store in Pudsey is one we filmed and photographed while the floor was going down.
Problem
Buyers of commercial flooring want to see the jobs, and the jobs were happening in stores and offices where nobody was recording them. The channels had nothing to show.
Work
We redeveloped the website, then put a camera on site: video and photography of installations as they happen, cut into content for the site and the social feeds, with SEO carrying it into search.

Showing jobs like Pudsey has helped Standeven win more large contracts.

“Halizona have done a great job on our recent website update, providing great support as well as excellent on-site video footage and social media posts. Highly recommend Dave and the team.”

Jack Lunn

Business
A long-established Leeds main contractor and property business, building across Yorkshire under the family name. Flower Meadows in Bradford is one of the developments we have filmed.
Problem
Their clients and partners are on LinkedIn, and decades of building work were barely visible there.
Work
Drone and video of live sites, planned around a marketing strategy for the one channel where their clients actually spend time, so each development is filmed, named and posted.

Growth and engagement on LinkedIn, and marketing people now recognise as readily as the family name.

About Halizona

A Yorkshire marketing company that runs the channels together

Halizona is a Yorkshire marketing company, based in Halifax, that helps established businesses get found by the right people, earn their trust and win more of the work they want. We work across West Yorkshire and nearby areas, including Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford, Leeds, Keighley and Skipton.

Websites, SEO, AI search, content, social media, photography, video and marketing strategy all sit with one team here. On a channels site that matters more than anywhere, because a video shot for the website should also be feeding YouTube, LinkedIn and the Google profile, and it only will if the same people are running all of them.

Websites and digital marketing have been our work for approaching 20 years. The businesses that suit us best are good at what they do and want their marketing run by one team that can be measured on enquiries.

Find you.Trust you.Choose you.

Help the right people find you on the channels they already use. Give them real evidence to trust you. Make it simple for them to choose you.

Common questions

Digital marketing in Leeds, answered

Which digital marketing channels work for a Leeds business?

The ones your customers use when they are looking for what you sell, and for most Leeds businesses that means Google search and Google Maps first, then the AI assistants, then social media and video, with paid ads used to fill gaps. A commercial contractor and a restaurant do not share a channel mix, so we start by checking where your buyers actually look before recommending anything.

The channel guide at the top of this page goes through it properly.

What does digital marketing cost in Leeds?

It depends on which channels are worth running for your business and how much content each one needs, so we price the work as a plan for your business and agree a fixed monthly figure before anything starts.

Search and AI visibility are the slow, compounding channels. Paid ads carry a click budget of their own that goes to Google or Meta on top of the management, and we will tell you plainly when that spend is worth it.

Do you run Google Ads?

Yes. Google Ads is one of the channels we manage, and it fits best where you need enquiries quickly, where the searches you want are too competitive to rank for yet, or where you want to test a new service or area before committing to the slower work.

We set it up around conversion tracking so that every pound spent can be traced to an enquiry, and we will say so if the numbers suggest the budget belongs somewhere else.

Does social media bring in work for a trade or B2B business?

It can, and the channel that does it is usually LinkedIn for B2B and Facebook or Instagram for consumer trades, with YouTube useful for both. Jack Lunn, a Leeds main contractor, uses filmed developments on LinkedIn to keep the company in front of the clients and partners who award the work.

Where social earns its place is as evidence: real jobs, real people, real progress. Posting for the sake of posting does very little.

What is the difference between SEO and GEO?

SEO is about being found when someone searches Google, and GEO, generative engine optimisation, is about being named when someone asks an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Gemini or Google’s AI Overviews the same question. The two overlap heavily, because the assistants read the same pages and reviews Google does, so good SEO is the foundation of GEO.

The difference is what gets added on top: clear statements of who you are and what you do, reviews and case studies, and mentions on other sites the assistants trust. Dolphin Heating in Huddersfield is number one on Google for female gas engineer Huddersfield and named in the AI answer as well, from the same body of work.

Can one company run our SEO, social media, ads and website?

Yes, and on a channels site that is the point. Every one of those channels needs the same raw material, the photographs, the videos, the written case studies and the reviews, so one team producing it once and using it everywhere costs less and reads as one business.

Educamus Tuition has used Halizona as its outsourced marketing team for over three years, across the website, search, social media, video and the wider marketing.

How do you report on which channels are working?

Enquiries first. Analytics and call and form tracking tell us which channel each enquiry came from, and the monthly report is written in plain English around that: what came in, where it came from, what it cost and what we are changing next.

Nothing gets hidden behind a dashboard you cannot read.

Is Halizona actually based in Leeds?

No, Halizona is based in Halifax, about half an hour down the road, and we have a Leeds address on Calverley Street for meetings. We are in the city regularly for filming and photography, since most of the channels we run depend on being on site.

Where we work

Which parts of Leeds do you cover?

The whole city and the towns around it. Our Leeds work so far runs from Swarcliffe in the east, where we filmed Bond Brickwork from the drone, to the M&S store in Pudsey on the west side, with Jack Lunn’s sites in between, and the channels we run do not care about postcodes anyway.
